PERSONALIZED DRUM LESSONS IN OMAHA
Work one-on-one with Jason at Gruv Studio in Omaha. Lessons are tailored to each student’s goals, experience level, and interests — whether you’re just getting started, playing in school, preparing for an audition, or looking to take your drumming to the next level.
WHAT CAN WE WORK ON?
Lessons are built around each student’s goals, so there isn’t a one-size-fits-all curriculum. We can focus on drum set, snare drum, school percussion, basic mallet or hand percussion, reading, technique, coordination, or whatever helps you move toward your goals.
Styles can range from rock, pop and metal to jazz, blues, Latin, gospel, country, marching and more. We can also work on specific techniques, auditions, school music, songs you want to learn, or areas of your playing you simply want to improve.
MY APPROACH TO TEACHING
I believe good teachers never stop being students themselves. I continue to practice, perform, learn new approaches, and grow as a musician — and I bring that experience into my teaching.
Every student learns differently. If something isn’t clicking, we’ll find another way to approach it. My job isn’t simply to show you what to play, but to help you understand it, build confidence, and make real progress toward the things you want to accomplish.

Lessons are one-on-one and built around the individual student. We may work on technique, reading, coordination, school music, songs, exercises, or whatever will help you make progress toward your goals.
I want students to understand not only what to practice, but how to practice so they can continue making progress between lessons.
MORE THAN JUST LESSONS
RECITALS
Students have opportunities to perform in a relaxed recital environment. They can choose music that interests them while we work together to prepare a performance that represents their abilities.
AUDITION & SOLO PREPARATION
School auditions, honor groups, contests, solos and other performances can become the focus of lessons when needed.
CLINICS & WORKSHOPS
Group clinics and workshops offer additional opportunities to explore specific styles, techniques and ensemble concepts.
CUSTOM MATERIALS & TRANSCRIPTIONS
When appropriate, I create or adapt exercises, music and transcriptions around what a student is learning or wants to accomplish.
